ASTM A320/A320M Grade B8MLN Class 1 is an advanced nitrogen-alloyed austenitic stainless steel bolting grade that significantly enhances the performance of standard 316L material. The controlled nitrogen addition of 0.10-0.16% increases yield strength and pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) without compromising weldability. With Class 1 carbide solution treatment, ASTM A320 Grade B8MLN Class 1 offers 75 ksi tensile strength with maximum hardness of 223 HBW, providing superior performance in chloride-containing environments, desalination equipment, and low temperature cryogenic systems.
