ASTM A320 Grade B8F Class 2 stud bolts undergo strain hardening after machining to achieve higher strength levels in free-machining stainless steel. These cold-worked 303 studs deliver 125 ksi tensile strength with 100 ksi yield for smaller diameter flanged connections. B8F Class 2 stud bolts serve admirably in automated valve assemblies, pump flanges, and utility piping systems where production efficiency from free-machining stock must be balanced with adequate preload capacity and thread stripping resistance.
