Carbide Solution Treated 303 Free-Machining Continuous & Double-End Studs
ASTM A320 Grade B8F Class 1 stud bolts are produced from free-machining 303 stainless steel with carbide solution treatment for excellent machinability and consistent thread quality. These Class 1 studs provide 75 ksi minimum tensile strength and 30% elongation with selenium-enhanced chip breaking during manufacture. While corrosion resistance is slightly reduced compared to 304, B8F Class 1 stud bolts remain the economical choice for instrument flanges, valve bonnet stud, and general-purpose piping where extensive machining is required and moderate corrosive exposure is acceptable.
